Cantemus presents a beautiful selection of Baroque and Renaissance masterpieces from the Chapel Royal, the home of some of Britain's most celebrated choral music. Directed by Huw Williams, himself a Chapel Royal musician of many years' standing, the programme will feature Purcell's iconic anthems Rejoice in the Lord Alway (the Bell Anthem) and O Sing Unto the Lord. Poulenc and Stravinky's colourful and lively neo-classical masterpieces are here presented in an unusual version for piano duo, echoing both composers' preference for composing at the keyboard. We are delighted to open the Ewenny Arts Festival 2016 on 27th February with our first ever performance at Ewenny Priory Church. Performing unaccompanied in the twelfth-century Norman church, which was originally built as a Benedictine priory, Cantemus will perform a variety of spiritual pieces from the Renaissance to the present day.
