CANTEMUS Chamber Choir Wales

President:  James Bowman

Music Director:  Huw Williams

Cantemus is an experienced chamber choir of up to 30 singers that draws its membership from Cardiff and the surrounding area that has become established as one of Wales' finest chamber choirs.

Our next performance will be on Saturday 11th October at 7:30pm in the Dora Stoutzker Hall, RWCMD.   Accompanied by pianists Robert Court and Peter King, it will feature Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem.  This has has long been a favourite of choirs and audiences, with the stirring 'Denn alles Fleisch' a real highlight. ‘Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen’ is the work's centrepiece, followed by the expressive 'Ihr habt nun Traurigkeit' written in memory of his mother. It was the first non-Latin and non-liturgical Requiem and is performed on this occasion in the more intimate piano duet version. The first half features works by Schubert, Mahler, and Brahms.

Tickets (£16/£12/£8) are available from the RWCMD box office on 029 2039 1391.
